Abbreviated Nomenclature of Synthetic Polypeptides Abbreviated Nomenclature of Synthetic Polypeptides (Polymerized Amino Acids)" provides the 1971 Recommendations of the IUPAC-IUB Commission on Biochemical Nomenclature (CBN). Sections covering the topic include: Definitions; Recommendations (Designation of Blocks or Linear Polymers, Designation of Branches and Branch Points, Block size & The Molar Percentage); Examples; and References. The CBN is responsible to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) and the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB). Made available on the Web by the Department of Chemistry, Queen Mary University of London. http://www.chem.qmul.ac.uk/iupac/misc/polypep.html

Peptide Retention Time Calculations New sequence-specific correction factors for prediction of peptide retention in RP-HPLC: application to protein identification by off-line HPLC-MALDI-MS. This version has been developed for the same set of ~2700 tryptic peptides and features new correction factors related to a peptide's propensity to form helical structures. Correlation about 0.98 (R-squared value) was obtained for the training set of 2700 peptides. http://hs2.proteome.ca/SSRCalc/SSRCalc.html
